Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Wins Patent Infringement Case Against HTC in Germany


Most recently the Finland based smartphone maker Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) filed in a German court that HTC has infringed nearly 22 of its patents with some of its products. Now an order from the court has confirmed that the infringement was actually done by HTC.
The patents that HTC have infringed are related with a technology that helps in saving battery power when a device is connected to a network. The ruling was made by the Mannheim regional court and related with those smartphones that HTC no longer imports in Germany.On contrary HTC said that its German business would not be affected by the court decision.
In addition to Germany the patent war between Nokia and HTC is also been processed in United States International Trade Commission and United Kingdom. In the United States the patent case hearing is expected to start in two months.
Apple also agreed with HTC on undisclosed terms that will allow the Taiwanese firm to independently fight against Android devices.
Shares of Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) in last session after opening at $3.38 hit high price of $3.48 and then closed at $3.45 by surging  0.15%.
Nokia generated sales of 39.45 billion in last twelve months with income of $-4060.77 million. Nokia’s annual sales growth for the past five years was -9.98%.
